Privacy policy

The short version: I only collect what I need to reply to you and do the work, I never share it for marketing, and your home stays private. The fuller version is below, in plain English.

Who I am

Happy Home Ascot is the professional decluttering and home organising service of Ruth Lawrence, based in Windlesham, Surrey GU20. For the purposes of UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), I am the data controller for the personal information described on this page. You can reach me at ruth@happyhomeascot.co.uk or 07718 913303.

What information I collect

When you contact me through the enquiry form, by email, phone or WhatsApp, I collect the details you choose to share: your name, contact details, the area you live in and anything you tell me about your home and the help you are looking for.

I do not ask for, and do not want, sensitive personal information through the enquiry form. Please keep health or financial details out of the form; we can discuss anything relevant on the phone instead.

How I use it

I use your details to reply to your enquiry, arrange your free call or consultation, plan and carry out the work you book, and keep basic records of our work together. That is the whole list. I do not send marketing emails, I do not add you to newsletters, and I never sell or share your details with anyone for marketing.

The legal basis for this is my legitimate interest in responding to you and, once you book, performing our agreement.

Your home stays private

Anything I see in your home is confidential. I never photograph, name or feature a client’s home without their clear, specific permission, and you can withdraw that permission at any time.

How long I keep it

Enquiry details are kept only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any work that follows. If we do not end up working together, I delete enquiry details within twelve months. Records relating to booked work are kept for up to six years for accounting and legal purposes, then deleted.

Who else sees it

Your enquiry is stored securely in my website’s systems so I can read and reply to it. The companies that host this website process data on my behalf under their own security obligations, and only to the extent needed to run the site. Otherwise your details stay with me.

Your rights

You can ask me at any time for a copy of the personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. You can also object to how I use it. Email me and I will sort it.

If you are ever unhappy with how I have handled your information, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though I would always welcome the chance to put things right first.

Changes to this policy

If I change how I handle personal information, I will update this page. This policy was last updated in October 2026.
